Headquartered in both Kansas City and Topeka, Evergy employs about 4,900 people who are dedicated to empowering a better future.  We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Utility Clerk.

Please find below a list of the minimum requirements for the position. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30am through 4:00pm. It is important the candidates address their qualifications in the documentation submitted for consideration.

Utility Clerks- “are responsible for the office functions of the Division Offices and shall be qualified through knowledge, training and experience to perform accurate completed clerical, bookkeeping and accounting-type work in accordance with established Company procedures. They shall be able to: perform all tasks related to the Maximo work order closing process; monitor and correct Job codes and Major units of Property on all Work Orders as needed; monitor and schedule service workload and adjust work for available resources; schedule outages, tree drops, service work orders and document accounts within CCB. Utility Clerks shall be able to assist employees performing design work; type a minimum twenty (20) words per minute (corrected) and have personal characteristics suitable for making contacts with customers and the public which are necessary in their line of duty. Utility Clerks may be required to occasionally deliver material when other non-supervisory employees who normally perform those duties are not readily available and shall be able to perform other duties as assigned.”

Successful candidate must possess a valid driver’s license, is subject to call outs and will be expected to live within a 35-mile radius of the of the Shawnee Service Center.  

Requires successful completion of EEI Support and Administrative Selection System (SASS) Testing.

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
