<h2>About the Role</h2><p>Gap Inc. is seeking a dynamic and strategic Vice President of Analytics and Insights to lead data-driven decision-making across critical business functions, including Customer Experience, Merchandising, Inventory, and Design. This leader will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s future by leveraging data, advanced analytics, and actionable insights to influence strategy and drive business growth.<br><br>Salary Range: $320,000- $350,000 USD<br><br>Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.</p><h2>What You'll Do</h2><ul><li><b>Strategic Leadership:</b> Lead and set the strategic direction for analytics and insights across key business areas—customer, merchandising, inventory, and design. Partner closely with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes through data-driven decision-making.</li><li><b>Data Storytelling:</b> Develop compelling data narratives that translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership, providing insights that support business growth and innovation.</li><li><b>Insights-Driven Strategy:</b> Use data and analytics to provide thought leadership and strategic direction. Guide the organization’s approach to leveraging customer, market, and operational data to drive business impact and competitive advantage.</li><li><b>Actionable Recommendations:</b> Lead teams in generating business-critical insights, identifying trends, and making data-backed recommendations to improve customer experience, optimize merchandising strategies, streamline inventory management, and enhance product design.</li><li><b>Cross-functional Collaboration:</b> Collaborate with senior leadership, business units, and product teams to ensure alignment of insights and analytics with overall company strategy. Build strong partnerships across product, engineering, marketing, and finance teams to influence decision-making.</li><li><b>Innovation and Best Practices:</b> Stay at the forefront of industry trends and emerging analytics methodologies to continuously evolve the company's analytics capabilities. Introduce best practices in data analytics, AI, machine learning, and data science to solve business challenges.</li><li><b>Team Leadership:</b> Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of analysts, data scientists, and insight professionals. Foster a culture of curiosity, data literacy, and continuous learning across the organization.</li></ul><h2>Who You Are</h2><ul><li>Proven experience in a senior leadership role driving business strategy through data and insights, ideally within retail, consumer goods, or e-commerce.</li><li>Strong experience in data storytelling, with the ability to present complex insights in a clear and impactful manner to executive teams.</li><li>Experience building strong analytics organization with strong advanced analytics skills that includes statistical analysis, machine learning and predictive analytics.</li><li>Expertise in customer analytics, merchandising, inventory, or product design insights.</li><li>Strong strategic thinker with the ability to turn data into actionable business outcomes.</li><li>Deep understanding of advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and business intelligence tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau, PowerBI).</li><li>Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills with a track record of leading large, cross-functional teams.</li><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Economics, or a related field.</li><li>MBA or advanced degree in a related field highly preferred.</li><li>Experience in driving organizational transformation through data and insights.</li><li>Strong familiarity with retail analytics and trends impacting consumer behavior.</li></ul>
