JOB_POSTING-3-79379-17<br><br><strong>Job Description<br><br></strong><strong>Role Summary/Purpose:<br><br></strong>The VP, Portfolio Credit Manager – Health and Wellness will be responsible for managing strategic elements of HW account management development, and ongoing growth.<br><br>In this role, you will support the overall credit (portfolio and account) management of the HW program and strategic client partnerships, a program consisting of both of dual card and private label product.<br><br>This role includes credit and multiple risk evaluation; delinquency, loss and fraud mitigation; enforcement of credit policies; portfolio monitoring; and assurance of a diligent program growth trajectory. This role acts as a primary Credit interface to HW leadership, the HW credit risk organization, and requires extensive cross functional interaction including leadership and support of business and functional initiatives.<br><br><strong><em>Our Way of Working<br><br></em></strong><strong><em>We’re proud to offer you flexibility. Occasionally you may be required to commute or travel for in person engagement activities such as business or team meetings, training and culture events.<br><br></em></strong><strong>Essential Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Work closely with partner to minimize both Synchrony’s risk, while continuing to grow the portfolio </li><li>Work effectively cross-functionally to drive smart growth and partner satisfaction in a safe and sound manner </li><li>Develop a robust performance monitoring plan for all HW processes</li><li>Prepare and present partner facing and leadership team presentations to communicate credit performance and facilitate informed decisions </li><li>Be a leader in driving enhanced strategies, using champion/challenger leanings to manage credit and fraud risk </li><li>Execute on ongoing evaluation of CTC (Critical to Compliance) Risk requirements to ensure controls are adequate and work with business teams to mitigate any compliance risks</li><li>Provide clear guidance to the organization on risk appetite and prudent growth </li><li>Maintain effective and credible challenge of critical decisions and business processes </li><li>Coordinate planning cycle with GM and growth teams to ensure consistency in business plans </li><li>Guide, mentor and develop portfolio credit and other staff in technical and business matters </li><li>Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned <br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications/Requirements<br><br></strong><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience in a strategic analytical role, or in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 11+ years of experience in strategic analytical role </li><li>3+ years leadership experience in portfolio management roles with strong emphasis on credit strategy, credit policy and internal/external communications </li><li>3+ years experience using SAS, R or Python Programming Skills </li><li>3+ years experience analyzing large data sets to derive strategic actionable credit insights </li><li>Experience developing Consumer Credit Risk Strategies. </li><li>Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required<br><br></li></ul><strong>Desired Characteristics<br><br></strong><ul><li>Experience using advanced modeling & data mining techniques (e.g. Machine learning, Big Data) to develop/ optimize Credit strategies </li><li>Leadership experience operating at a strategic level as part of a cross functional team </li><li>Master’s Degree or MBA with advanced analytic focus, or equivalent advanced degree </li><li>Strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to interact with and present to SYF senior leaders and partners </li><li>Experience creating and leading organizational change <br><br></li></ul><strong>Grade/Level: 12<br><br></strong>The salary range for this position is <strong>135,000.00 - 230,000.00</strong> USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.<br><br>Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.<br><br>Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.<br><br><strong>Eligibility Requirements<br><br></strong><ul><li>You must be 18 years or older</li><li>You must have a high school diploma or equivalent</li><li>You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process</li><li>You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.</li><li>New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).<br><br></li></ul>Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
