<strong style="font-weight:700;">Job Title: Material Handler</strong><strong>Job Description</strong><p>Join our team as a Material Handler in the Receiving & Shipping department. This full-time position operates on the 1st Shift, Monday to Friday from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, at our Plant 1 location in Wichita, KS. This role involves receiving, processing, storing, and distributing metal with an emphasis on safety and teamwork.</p><strong>Responsibilities</strong><ul><li>Complete basic, routine tasks with detailed instructions and core shop knowledge.</li><li>Pull and assemble orders based on work or shipping orders.</li><li>Coordinate and execute material handling.</li><li>Perform quality control inspections.</li><li>Sort and package parts as directed.</li><li>Tag material for proper identification and complete all required documentation.</li><li>Operate yard truck, forklift, and overhead crane for loading and unloading trailers.</li><li>Conduct spot checks on inventory and ensure proper tagging of material.</li><li>Report any irregularities to supervisor.</li><li>Adhere to and ensure compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.</li><li>Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.</li></ul><strong>Essential Skills</strong><ul><li>Valid Driver’s License.</li><li>0-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li><li>Manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination.</li><li>Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.</li><li>Ability to apply common sense understanding to instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.</li><li>Basic measurement and arithmetic skills.</li><li>Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.</li><li>Sound decision-making abilities.</li><li>Capability to lift 100 pounds occasionally, 60 pounds repetitively.</li><li>Ability to stand for sustained periods.</li><li>Capability to push or pull 80 pounds of force.</li><li>Ability to climb on and off truck trailers repeatedly.</li><li>Ability to work in temperatures exceeding 100 degrees F and below 32 degrees F.</li><li>Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships.</li></ul><strong>Additional Skills & Qualifications</strong><ul><li>Certification to operate motorized material handling and rigging equipment.</li><li>Basic computer proficiency.</li><li>Warehousing and material handling experience preferred.</li><li>High School diploma/GED preferred.</li></ul><strong>Why Work Here?</strong><p>We offer a direct placement opportunity in a team-oriented environment where collaboration is key.
